Alex Brewer

Alex Brewer aka HENSE

This artist is Alex Brewer (aka HENSE).  His work relates to my definition of beauty in the state of being natural and human. It shows how chaos is a natural form found in everyday life. Nature itself is a chaotic mess of things and this piece illustrates it well. The little bit of color shows the variety of life forms that live together.  The way that the color and lines over lap creates the beauty of nature on a canvas or in this case a wall.

Beauty v. Repulsion

Repulsion

Repulsion to me is the sight, feel, or sound that makes me instinctively turn away, that whatever I am seeing is unattractive to me.

Beauty

Beauty in and of itself has multiple meanings and interpretations.  I see beauty as something timeless and simplistic in such a meaning that it will be considered beautiful for centuries and simplistic that it will not need anything added or retracted from its form as a whole.  I see beauty as warm and joyful, something that gives you tingles, leaving you wanting to be in its presents.  I also see beauty as natural and human.  If we do not find our own form to be welcoming then we cannot appreciate the things our form can do, nature is beautiful in the way of chaos.  I find things that just happen without reason and cannot be explained are beautiful. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, we choose to see the beauty in things.
